Saying Hello

So I’ve learned a lot of language since arriving back in September. We learned Ukrainian during training, but I am currently also learning some Russian because many people speak Russian where I live. I can have basic conversations, manage in stores and restaurants, discuss the time, weather, and am able to get around town asking directions and where different things (banks, post office, ect.) are located. Learning a language isn't easy but with Peace Corps pre-service training I was in language classes for 4 hours a day every day so I retained quite a bit more than high school Spanish.

So here are some basic greetings for you in Ukrainian!

Hello — Привіт (Pry-veet)

How are you? — Як справи? (Yak spravey)

How's life?—Як життя? (Yak zhyttya)
