I've finally started to get into somewhat of a routine here at PST, everyday something is different but somethings are always the same.
6:50am I wake up a few minutes before my host parents will come get me for breakfast and lay there thinking about how I should have gone to bed earlier the night before.
7:00am breakfast (сніданок) - In the states we have “breakfast food” i.e. eggs, French toast, oats. In Ukraine we have leftovers from dinner, which is actually not to bad. Last week though my host mom gave me a piece of cake for breakfast and then was confused when I said I didn't want to eat cake for breakfast.
7:30am time to leave! I head out and along my walk meet up with two other PCT, Emily and Amanda.
8:00am Language class. We usually have language class for four hours a day
10:00am break time because after two hours of speaking in another language if you don’t take a break your brain becomes mush
10:30am more language class
12:30pm lunch. My favorite meal of the day because I get to choose exactly what I eat and how much of it I eat.
2:30pm Technical training – so learning how to write a lesson plan, how to introduce myself as a teacher, different activities that can be done during class
5:00pm Usually a trip to the local grocery store where I decide how to spend some of my allowance from the Peace Corps, usually on candy, snacks, or wine.
5:20pm Time to head home
5:40pm the same dog everyday stands in my way blocking my path and barks at me. I take a step forward. He barks at me. I take another step forward. He barks at me louder. I finally get past him and get home.
6:30pm dinner (вечеряти)
7:00pm I try to have a conversation with my host mom about my day, it's been getting easier and I'm able to tell her more now than I could even a week ago.
7:30pm do homework for like three hours and study and try to actually memorize everything we did during the day
10:00pm time to relax, watch Netflix, journal and anything else to relax before I go to bed.
Here are some pictures from the past few weeks!
